Never knowing what will be from yester-years and ways
That we've past through as we traveled in our thoughts of being
Passing over, under, around, our many moments of living
From birth through youth into adults we sort and seek a path
To become a version of a person that consistently has
Sought to be a part of life in it's choices of shapes and forms
Deciding what we want to believe, dismiss, accept or transform
Inside society's many displays of hero's, successes and such
We learn that we are both great and small; capable and reluctant
In times when hardships and confusions take the stage to scene
All the wiles from living on with hopes and prayers and dreams
To survive the placidity's where we strive to conquer
Every day boredoms that measure time while our minds wonder
About a grandeur broader world waiting to be explored
Waiting only for us to take the steps through opened doors
Then we learn as we age that greater things can become
As we diligently apply the basic knowledge's that were learned
While we struggled to accept that life would narrow one day
Taking with it all the day dreams we carried along the way
Finding ourselves unpleased with our becoming, realizing time
Had marched right on about it's ways while inside our minds
We planned - one days, if only's, when they - along in daily moments
That were lived for someone else because we believed postponement's
Would one day usher in a place more suited to approach our dreams
Then bring them to life to live once more among our daily doings
Ah the innocence we rediscover, oh our stupid childish thinking
Carrying us through our most difficult fears while clock hands were silently ticking
Away the minutes we foolishly believed were wasted on faith in better
Were our only escapes from the taunting sadness that gave us strength to weather
Another's scorn, another's hate, while we offered our best to their service
Leaving behind the dream child in our minds who was the only one who deserved us
