Of Light and Shadow

Why would we ever fear a shadow, it's so small compared to light
Surrounding it from top to bottom, all around from side to side
On the ground so far beneath us, while we stand above it's view
It has no eyes, no face, nor mouth, outlines only what's construed
As we watch it there beneath, it is our minds that choose to see
What it represents as fact, what it could be and what it lacks
For it is only a small part of, all we see from here above
Look around you, see the sun, much larger than what might shun
You from thinking that it's bigger than the light which must snicker
At us all when we fear such a tiny thing cast there
On the side or down below while we straight up forward grow
Reminding us we're bigger than, the darkened mind of any man
Whose want or need of some turmoil, is only birthed from his own soul
The sky itself gives debate, that even night skies are awake
With a billion trillion times the lights of heavens all ashine
Scattering darkness to and fro encouraging all life it should grow
Beyond it's mere shadowed thoughts of histories lesson's as it taught
All who would learn from them, that living is a truth unskimmed
Testament of all who thrive to bring light into the lives
As gifts of freedom from shadows, shades that boasts of life untold
So here, a poem, that is to say look what nature has displayed
It's shown us every color of what's evident below, above
Is meant to replace all darkness with hues of love, light and likeness
In existence so that we would take up light to believe
That even though a shadow's there it's up to us what could repair,
A dark and gloomy skulking menace, into a blessing of the present
Dispelling all the apparitions, which only seeks to make divisions
Between our selves and the past where others thought a shadow cast
Would unearth our want of life to give our best of love and light
Over to a gloom that hides waiting for a mouth to chide
When even gray cloud rainy days watch the shadows run away
Enjoying light in different spectrums bringing different cheerful anthems
To keep us from a lesser way, prepared to brighten up a day
Need only be applied to seal away the degrading squeals
And bring to a mind a way to heal our living thoughts a way to deal
With all the pitfalls that would take our minds to some dark empty place
Delivering them to the light open to view in plain sight
So give your self the strength to smile learn that shadow's murky guiles
Are only what you would believe if light did not give you sight to see
Yourself as a much brighter part of where you were and where you are
Reaching into the days of times tending the light that now shines
Whittling darkness down to size as our moments realize
That a shadow's only strength is the power that it's given
