Modus Operandi In Lyrical Verse
Put yourself on the page and fill each line
With music or vision in or out of time
Write each word as if it was you
Define your own concept within a word or two
Does it fit with the statement, does it lead
You to another in value or belief
Is it contrary to the printed sentence
Do you apply it with or without recompense
In the imagination of each of us
Is a lingering contour in which we must
Learn to expand our own ways of thinking
Without the value of our own selves shrinking
To fulfill the expectancies of those from whom
We learned to foreshadow or to loom
Our words in stages upon the page
Novelist, essayist, prose writing sages
Galloping these waters while considering
Their thoughts as their words are mingling
Out of their ideas along with all life
Considering them over day and night
Coloring the thoughts of this and another
Between the letters composing their words
Draw me a picture of me on the lines
Open your words to which you think can define
The colors, the textures, the morals, the worth
Within the concepts of acceptance and mirth
Could you relate the contrast and complement
From where I began and where for I went
In moments considering my life on my own
Without the facilities of another's tone
Whose well meaning instruction was to incline
My mind and level of communicating mine
Own ideas with clarity and structure
Without the pitfalls of a surface censored
Where every beginning brings another idea
To look for approval and a chance to give
Birth to a thought which can grow to live
In an arrangement where it shimmers and sifts
Beyond the obvious words in alignment
Upon the imaginations consignments
As a moment of clarity, a moment of revelation
From which another can exact an estimation
Of their own from whence they read
Once the idea was arranging in their head
Did they consider the thought for a moment
To linger over later in their own continuum
Trying to express the idea it inspired
Which lead their considerations to aspire
A vision of their own, a broader examination
From a few words gathered in combination
My own portrait sketches itself anew
Each day that I sit down to resume
My traveling life through lyrical verse
To add something new to our universe
Beyond all the ads or online shopping
A written thought to which now I'm hoping
Will bring me again to ponder and begin
Another avenue to which I might express
The methods of time I choose to progress
My modus operandi defining purpose
Broadening my mind and life experience
Upon the pages of worded writings
Exceeding my knowledge, proceeding my reasoning

Not every writer writes for fame and fortune. As a matter of fact that class of people is a reserved group of people none of the rest of the world's simple word users will ever be able to liken ourselves to. Then again, that was never the idea when most people first began writing. It was something we were taught, something we learned, something we were instructed to use through out our lives to sort out ideas and follow a pattern of thinking that would lead us to communicating with our own thoughts in a healthier way.
