Living a painful truth is the biggest lie you will ever accept as true
Especially when the lie wasn't yours and yet
You're expected to live it out as if it was
Internet psychology is the cheapest form of therapy
And no amount of pharmaceuticals can replace human decency
Companionship is a basic need in life
Even the most labeled violent of our time are grouped
With their peers and their comrades who think alike
Why then do so many innocent people become isolated over time
Sculpted by many a faceless critic who
Chose them as their victims
When all the sculptors are of like minds
They crave as much validation for their behavior
As a three year old looking to a parent for approval
To be patted on the back and acclaimed for their achievement
And choices no matter how ill their intent towards others are
As long as they are accepted and condoned for their work
They will drive the hands of time forward with no
Remorse nor regret because after all who among them
Would approve if they didn't
The world is often unkind and quick to condemn the soft spoken
And empathic beings among humanity as being weak
Those who have never worked a day to see one callous grow
On their hands besmirching those who have worn
Those callouses for years as they took care of aging parents,
Helped feed their neighbors, defend their families,
Feed their children and wake up with aching bodies to go back
To their jobs every day and start over again
The lives of us all are carried on the minds and the shoulders
Of others who without one ounce of recognition do more
For others in a days time than the most prevalent masters
Of modern warfare will do for them in a lifetime
And of those prevalent leaders of un-named disasters
The leaders of the hecklings forget that without those they've used
They would be nothing more than those they've abused
Looking for acquaintance among their local neighborhoods
Wanting nothing more than to spend a few moments of their lives
With others who have nothing to prove except that they are alive
