Everyday in some small way
My mind sets itself on a course
To mingle in thoughts of what and what not's
Creating a mirage of reports
In countless words, images and pages
With all the information passed through the ages
Of doctrine, entertainment, discussions and such
Revealing great depths of mire and much
To ponder and shuffle and try to connect
The obvious nonsense so many accept
As mere speculations contrived and obscure
My thoughts look for meaning in the absurd
Is this the way my thinking should be
Offering more than the possibilities
Of grandiose dreams and relinquished lives,
Times that were created, destroyed, redesigned
In the course of a lifetime running hither and forth
No telling the distance between the truth and distorts
To look for a moment where in the blink of an eye
Understanding sets in and my processes sigh
From the whom will ever know all that there's been
To consider through a life time of where we all begin
Under the instruction of another person's voice
That are explained to us daily without our own choice
As humans we're sculpted by what came before
Offered to us as conjecture, nothing more
As suggestion, as relevance, as important, as fact
Then told to move on and never look back
To question, consider, or rationalize
The depths and the widths of another's disguise
Meant to mold our thinking in paths to be
Comprehensive acceptance of all society
Values are placed like labels on bread
Tales are spun intricately to lead us instead
Through all that was portioned to give meaning in life
In times of jubilation and battles with strife
Often where blame is placed on one soul
Who had no idea or any control
Of the events they're birthed into and told to accept
Without any rational reason but told not to fret
Oh to make sense of the this and the that
And keep it tucked neatly under a hat
Is a day worth considering, are the ideas even fair
They all end the same, fair thee well, and take care
